UA Adult Hockey Leagues: Winter 2020-21

Union Arena will operate three organized groups, for the 2020-21 season, as outlined below:

*We have chosen to leave last year’s Adult Hockey League page active for anyone that wants to see how we have traditionally operated in past seasons and hope to operate again in future seasons.  For the 2020-21 season we’ve modified our offerings to work with the times.*

Goals:
*Provide players an ice experience this winter, even if it’s not the traditional league format
*Provide a safe environment to all participants and rink attendees
*Be reasonable with schedule and fees to reflect the possibility of state guideline changes
*Maintain the same “pod” of participants to help manage exposure risk

Guidelines:
*CDC: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html
*VT ACCD guidelines that continue to be updated periodically – our facility focuses on 8.1 (arena) and 9.1 (recreational sports) – please read THOROUGHLY: https://accd.vermont.gov/news/update-new-work-safe-additions-stay-home-stay-safe-order
*2020 guidelines have been updated to reflect changes for the winter months: https://unionarena.org/covid19/
        – Masks are required OFF and ON the ice!
        – Locker rooms WILL be available to dress/undress but the door will remain open, you’ll have less than 10 minutes on either side to do so, the bathrooms won’t be accessible and each locker room only holds 10, additional participants would use chairs right outside.  We encourage adult skaters to show up (at least) partially dressed in baselayers.

General Information:
*The season will consist of (2) sessions – October/November/December & January/February – to help manage fees and unpredictable changes
*Free Agents should reach out before registering.  Returning players will be approved to rosters first.
*Part-Time Players (ie subs, drop-ins) are NOT permitted this season.
*Refund Policy: There are no refunds for players who quit or are suspended or expelled from the group. Refunds will be addressed if the rink is forced to close due to COVID.
*‘A’ Level Players should consider the UVHL group on Tuesday nights. Go to www.UVHL.com for more information.
*2020-21 Season will begin Thursday, October 22nd and end February 25th.  Schedules and session dates will be released by the beginning of October.
