2023 Summer Camps Hosted at Union Arena

Hockey Skating Clinic with Jacki Smith
Mondays, 6/19 – 7/24
Ages 10U/12U Session – 3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Ages 14U / HS Session – 4:40 p.m. – 6 p.m.

Come work on your skating this summer to get a jump start on the next season. This clinic focuses on skating forwards and backwards, and using your inside and outside edges to help skaters get more comfortable using them all. We will work on stride position, balance, transitions, and edge control. Having total control over your edges while keeping your upper body quiet will allow you to do anything with a stick and puck.

*Jacki Smith is the Director of the Skating Club at Dartmouth. She has been coaching hockey players in the Upper Valley for over 18 years and has worked with UVHA, HHA, as well as individuals who have played in high school, D1 and D3 schools.*

“I grew up playing for Hanover Youth Hockey, Cardigan Mountain School, and Deerfield Academy. I returned home to play for Dartmouth College before making it to the NHL with the Pittsburgh Penguins, Anaheim Ducks, Penguins (again!), New Jersey Devils, and Dallas Stars. My goal for this camp is to teach young boys and girls from my neighborhood the hockey skills they will need to know how to play at the next level.”

Skaters Edge w/ Dave Reece at Union Arena
June 19 — June 23 / Limited Enrollment
Ages –  14U / HS / Prep / College

Skating instruction, development, stick handling, positional play and small area scrimmages.  This is designed for players who want five (5) days of individual development in a small, competitive group setting. Fewer skaters allows for greater improvement with more reps per drill vs. waiting in line.  If you are interested in attending, you must call first for further details and registration information.  Please call (802) 299.1146 and leave a message if necessary.
